5

My girl is 5. I cannot believe it. To think that 5 years ago I could not imagine my tiny baby being 5 years old. It felt like a life time away and now here it is.

She is a special girl, wild and crazy; spicy and sweet. I love her! I love to watch her, to hold her, to sing to her. Before I know it she will be 10, 20, 30 years old and have babies of her own. I miss the days when she couldn’t talk back to me and anticipate the days when we will talk together in conversation. But, for now I must cherish the days we are in. Knowing that they are few and fleeting and soon she won’t want me to paint her nails or come brush my hair. These days are few and I love them.

In honor of my sweet Emily I am offering a gift to you. If you contact me within the next 5 days I will schedule you for a free mini session. These mini sessions are for one or two children or one high school senior, the session will be 20 minutes long, and must be scheduled on a Friday May 8th or 15th in Visalia. There are 5 mini sessions available.  Session times are between 9am-11am or 5pm-sunset. Only one session per family.

Part 2

A while ago I posted part 1 of a 2 part post. This is part 2.

This great “Trash the Dress” session was arranged by my friend and fellow photographer Erin Davis. I had an idea to have a Shoot and Share getaway with other photographers so that we could all learn and grow from the different perspective, style and business we all have. My dear friend Kori Friesen is a teacher and director at heart, which I am not, we talked about this idea and proposed it to a couple fellow photographers. Kori, Erin, Cori Derksen and myself sat over dinner and discussed this idea and the wonderful oppertunity it would be for us to get away to shoot and share who we are as women, moms, photograhers and how they all colide.

We had a wonderful time. Maybe next year it will be longer and include others. We have many ideas and not enough time.

So on the the Trash the Dress…

This was SO MUCH FUN!!! We started in San Luis Obispo’s Gum Ally. Worked our way to the mission and a few other quick stops before we headed to Montana de Oro. The scenery and temperture quickly changed on our drive but, our bride and groom were the best sports about it. Earlier in the day I had every intention of really getting in the water for some shots I had in my head but, when it came time I opted for another perspective. IT WAS COLD!

If you or some one you know {even if I didn’t shoot your wedding} is interested in a Trash the Dress session contact me. I will be planning a beach session weekend(s) and would love to shoot you. And… grooms you don’t need a tux. Our groom just happened to own his.

Little “N”

Little “N” had us working hard to keep him settled so I could capture him at 8 days old. I have had the pleasure of photographing several newborns lately and all have blessed me with their sleepiness. Little “N”  reminded me that even the littlest ones have an opinion. Little “N” is a snugger and wanted to be held. So to capture his sweetness dad filled in as my baby positioner. I am glad that we were able to capture is smallness and sweetness, even if it was between his baby cries.

Thank you for allowing me to be apart of your families memories.

Blessings,Kelley

Miss “C”

High school seniors are so much fun. Take a look at miss “C”!

One of the things I love about photographing new clients is their response to my choice of locations. One of the places I had talked to miss “C” mom about was shooting in a parking garage. My plans didn’t quite happen as I had thought, too many cars in the structure, but, as it happened there was this awesome blue wall at the entrance. There was a little questioning going on but, I think these images will make them believers.

I was on a mission to shoot all new locations. I see locations I’d love to shoot at ALL OF THE TIME but, when it comes time to shoot I fall into the same oldies but goodies, knowing I won’t disappoint.  That is changing! I am board and I want to explore. I have vowed to shock and awe by, getting out of my box.

This year for seniors, miss “C” will be the only one who will be shot by me in the {top 3} locations. Fields and parks are fair game for all. But, the good news is I have many more locations I want to shoot and more to find. So if you want to go exploring with me give me call!

So far this is my favorite from the day. I love that smile!

While we were out I was happy to grab a few of mom and miss “C”. Thank you for choosing me for these special photographs!
