My Joshua

Today Joshua helped in leading our church worship by playing guitar. This was somewhat last minute for Joshua and he had a bit of brushing up on his guitar skill to do. It has been many years since he has truly played the guitar and In addition he needed to learning a handful of songs, one of which guitar tabs could not be found. Normally there is a pianist to assist but, she is going to have a baby at any moment so a fill in was needed. We have a very simple worship, singing mostly hymns lead by the piano and a vocalist. So as you might imagine no piano is a bit of a shock to the worshiping congregation.

Joshua seemed as cool and collected as he always does but, I was a knot of nerves. I couldn’t look at him for fear of laughing from nerves and that would have been bad because then he would have defiantly screwed up.

In the end Joshua came through and did a great job.

As I am writing this I am thinking about our friends that are worship leaders…You know who you are :) you all have an amazing talent. Seriously talented, every one of you. You are also probably laughing a bit because you know Joshua.

Yesterday while I was helping Joshua practice, by accompanying him, I was thinking, this is probably like what it is for Jacinda and Brian sometimes. Except, Jacinda can sing. Luckily Joshua loves me and looks past my off key voice :) Mandy, do you sing with Dave?

He will get a bit more practice at the evening service tonight and I’m sure all will go well.

Thank you lord for the gifts you give each of us.

miss "H"

What a girl. I enjoyed photographing miss “H” more than ever. She is a spirited beauty that loves to play. She reminds me of my little miss Emmy. Now if I could just get images like these of her :)

Tagged

I’ve been tagged by Erin from Studio 317. I Ran into her today while getting my toes done and remembered she tagged me the other day. So here I go.
Here are the rules of this little game:

1. link back to the person who tagged you.

2. post these rules on your blog.

3. share six unimportant things about yourself.

4. tag six people at the end of your entry.

5. let the tagged people know by leaving a comment on their blogs

1. I love frozen brownies.
2. I am afraid of falling. I have been for as long as I can remember. For along time i thought I was afraid of heights but, really it is the falling that terrifies me.
3.I am love the smell of cut grass and wet dirt.
4.Some day I want to ride horses again. When I was young my patents had horses. I think we had about 6 or so at one time. They spent a lot of time riding and we got to go with them often. My mom did horse shows, my dad roped and they did some other stuff together. I always wanted to be run barrels. This time of year brings those memories back because the Clovis Rodeo (I grew up in Clovis) is always the last weekend in April. Having horses is a hidden part of who I am and I hope that I can bring it back to life someday.
5. I love to drive fast. On beautiful days like today part of me wishes I had my little 914 still so I could take it for a drive.
6. I love when I get to to see my kids when I have been gone for a day or so. In just a few minutes we will leave to pick them up from grandma and grandpa Posey’s. Grandpa picked them up yesterday afternoon and they spent the night. When we show up they will run to us and yell, “MOMMY DADDY” and give us the biggest best hug. I love those hugs. I love hearing the excitement for us in their voice. It reassures me that I am doing something right.
