A bit of joy

This morning has been fun, busy and trying, as most mornings are:) During Jonah’s nap I was trying to divide my time between Emily and the other household what nots that I need to do. Emily asked to color with pens while she watched a cartoon and I decided that it would be ok since Jonah was sleeping. So she is happily and quietly coloring and I am doing my thing. I decided to check on her because a quiet child is usually up to something :) and she was. She had decided to color her face, her lips to be exact. I told her not to do it again and laughed to my self, knowing the pens are washable. I did however snap a quick picture of her beautiful artistry, before we put the pens away.
I also enjoyed watching Jonah play with his trucks. He has been drawn to cars, trucks and train for as long as I can remember. He will play in his room with his trucks for 30-45 minutes.
Being a mom is really hard sometimes, especially when they aren’t cooperating with me and my daily agenda… like they have any clue or care that I want to clean :) but, when I take the time to play with them and forget about my to-do list for a while, I find the joy in my job as a mom.
